Raining Faith Outreach
Raining Faith Massage,
Beautiful Children,
and Global Hope
As
part of Matthew's education at Boulder College of Massage Therapy he
participated in various community service projects and internships. He
began to think about where he wanted to participate in internships and
what he wanted to learn from them. One of his goals as a therapist would
be to show compassion to his clients and hope that they would feel that
compassion through his touch.
He had numerous close friends from his church that had served on Mission
Teams in the country of Romania. There they had helped orphaned children
in various capacities. Feeling the call of God to go to this country,
Matthew designed an internship in which he would offer massage to the
children of Romania. BCMT approved the internship and he recruited a close
friend, Robin Braden, to act as his supervisor for the trip. Robin is a
physical therapist and partner of
Anchor Physical Therapy
in Broomfield.
Matthew saw this as a tremendous opportunity to expand upon his
faith and education at the same time. He was a member of a team sponsored
by Global Hope, a not for profit organization dedicated to helping the
children of Romania. See the links page for more information about
Global
Hope and the wonderful work that they are doing.
The trip had a remarkable impact on him. Robin and Matthew worked in two
different facilities in the city of Arad, which lies on the western border
of Romania. They split their time between the Babes orphanage and a
Recouperation Center. At Babes, one hundred fifty children between the
ages of one and three live at the orphanage. Matthew and Robin worked with
a massage therapist in addressing the needs of a few of the children. At
the Recouperation Center they worked with a physical therapist who has
done some miraculous work with children that had special needs, including
both emotional and physical disabilities.
After making a subsequent trip to Romania with his wife Pamela, they
answered a call from God to move to Arad, Romania in June 2003. There the Gibble family worked as missionaries with Global
Hope, Inc overseeing two Christian Family Homes and acting as Directors of
Romanian Operations for Global Hope.
They returned to Colorado in November 2005.
In choosing a name for his business, Matthew wanted something that would
relate to his spiritual beliefs and life as a follower of Jesus Christ.
After playing with various names he came up with Raining Faith Massage. He
prays that through a leap of faith God will bring him the clients to see
his dreams become a reality. In small a country miles from his home in
Broomfield, Colorado a dream and a business were born. Here's praying that
it continues raining faith!
Here are some pictures of Matthew providing
therapy to handicapped children at the
Recouperation Center in Arad.
